The Entryway

The entryway is the statement that your house makes when company arrives. It is the first impression and one that is important to me. I regularly change up the front hall table depending on the season or holiday. If it’s a month without any special holiday, I just pretty it up anyway!

We have a long hall table made of raw wood and black metal which is nice but also presents the issue of What do I put on this thing? Thankfully I have a number of objects that work at different times of the year. This past year I have used daffodils in spring, roses in early summer, pine cones and pumpkins in the fall and of course a variety of festive elements during the Christmas season.

As you can see, I have a commitment problem. I cannot bring myself to deciding once and for all, what should be mounted to the wall here. Mostly that’s because I don’t trust my hanging skills and I fear several nail holes may be the new art on display. So, I lean things like a metal compass, or a mirror brought from my old home up against the wall to see if I can get away with it indefinitely.

I actually DO want to decide but it’s been a year now and counting.

What do you think? Should I mount something here for ever???
